"Butter Battle Book"
Dr. Seuses "Butter Battle Book" is perhaps the most innocent example of a national, political war. He hides the Cold War within this world known child's book, The metaphor of a battle over Butter side up, or down on these fictional characters toast, and their passion to defend it, as well as the actions used to defend it. During the cold war, the USA and USSR were "showing off" their technological breakthroughs to intimidate each other, until a massive nuclear arsenal was built. This is represented as the "Bitsy Big-Boy Boomeroo" which was a small device which would surly end the fight. The end of the "Butter Battle Book", based on the beginning will represent the end of the cold war, so i can only imagine that it will end with each side locked in stalemate for a long time, because that is what happened in the cold war. Dr. Seuses story, "Butter Battle Book" is, along with the rest of his works, a highly accuret metaphore for a famous event in history, hidden within the innocence of a childs book.
